The Grönefeld 1944 Tanfana marks a graceful new chapter for the Dutch independent brand—its first-ever ladies’ timepiece, thoughtfully designed with feminine elegance and horological sophistication. Named after the ancient goddess Tanfana, a symbol of harmony and protection once honored in the region of Oldenzaal where the Grönefeld brothers were raised, this watch is as much a tribute to heritage as it is to innovation. The reference 1944 pays homage to their late mother Netty’s birth year, adding a deeply personal layer to the design. Housed in a 37.5mm Red Gold Au750 5N case set with 233 brilliant-cut diamonds (approximately 2.73 carats), the Tanfana reflects refined craftsmanship through its gem-set bezel, lugs, and buckle. The sculpted case architecture blends curved and angular surfaces to create shifting plays of light and shadow, while an aventurine cabochon crown ties in with the celestial dial.

At the heart of the 1944 Tanfana is a mesmerizing aventurine dial in deep midnight blue, brought to life by the Flower of Life motif—a symbol rooted in Sacred Geometry. This pattern enhances the dial’s depth and spiritual resonance, punctuated by applied red gold trapezoidal indexes and elongated Lancette hands. Rather than a traditional seconds subdial, a rotating floral animation at 6 o’clock produces a hypnotic moiré effect, mimicking a flower in perpetual bloom. Offered with a wide range of interchangeable straps and crafted with the same technical excellence that defines the Horological Brothers’ legacy, the 1944 Tanfana merges luxury watchmaking with modern femininity—a perfect harmony of symbolism, art, and performance.
