The limited edition Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon, shown here with an exquisite hand hammered 5N gold dial, stands as one of the most technically sophisticated and visually stunning creations from the family-owned Maison Gerald Charles. This exceptional timepiece is an homage to the original Maestro flying tourbillon crafted in 2005 by the legendary founder, Monsieur Gerald Charles Genta. Redesigned in partnership with the Maison’s creative director, Octavio Garcia, this new model is driven by the GCA 3024/12 automatic flying tourbillon calibre. This bespoke manufacture movement, produced in collaboration with Gerald Charles’s long-standing partner, Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, the renowned Swiss creator of high-end movements, ensures that the Maestro GC 9.0 Tourbillon is a pinnacle of horological artistry and engineering.

At its core, the watch houses a 60-second flying tourbillon, an elegant device developed in the early 19th century to enhance the accuracy of pocket watches by counteracting gravity. For this model, Mr. Garcia collaborated with Gerald Charles’ technical teams and Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier to ingeniously mold the tourbillon cage into the Maison’s GC logo. This innovation posed a unique challenge: designing the logo-shaped cage to maintain the integrity of the watch’s power reserve. Through meticulous engineering, including skeletonizing the cage and strategically repositioning the screws of its 18-carat yellow gold bridge to the back, they achieved a delicate balance. The result is a sophisticated 60-second flying tourbillon that vibrates at 4hz, its visual impact enhanced by the dynamic contrasts between the surgical-grade stainless steel case, blued steel bezel, gold bridge, and the titanium cage. Additionally, the tourbillon features a blue indicator on the "G" of the cage, doubling as a small seconds display, complemented by a stop-seconds function for precise time setting, making the Maestro GC 9.0 Tourbillon not just a timepiece, but a testament to the art of watchmaking.
