Louis Erard once again turns accessible watchmaking on its head with the new Excellence Marqueterie. The Swiss master of marquetry Bastien Chevalier is responsible for the intricate design that elevates métiers d’art with this contemporary interpretation. Each individual dial is made by his hand using this complicated technique, something unheard of for a watch in this price point.
The precision required for this incredible undertaking is jaw-dropping. Each dial is comprised of more than 70 pieces, with the cubes created from three different hues of blue-tinted tulip tree, cut individually by a saw, and the background willow burl cut on the grain and tinted to a heather grey.

The stainless steel 42 mm stainless steel case is the perfect frame for this work of art, allowing the cubes to come to life within its border. The Signature fir tree blued steel hands and blue grained calf leather strap bring this masterpiece together. The functional catch spring bars enable the strap to be changed efficiently.
